Global Alliance for PR elects a new board member

On June 1st, 2016, the manager of Institutional and International Relations at Aberje, Tato Carbonaro, was elected a member of the board of Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, the largest confederation of media associations and institutions in the world, representing over 160,000 communicators. The election took place in Toronto, Canada, during the World Public Relations Forum, an event that the institution holds every 2 years.
The Board of Global Alliance for PR is responsible for establishing the general guidelines of the institution’s strategy, as well as coordinating and implementing many of its projects. The Board is composed of fifteen members from around the world. Its mission is to strengthen communication between organizations and society, seeking universal principles that unite professionals in the field, while at the same time, incorporating and sharing the diverse theories and practices of the profession on a global scale. Aberje has been a member of Global Alliance for PR since 2011.
Tato Carbonaro is the manager of Institutional and International Relations at Aberje – Brazilian Association of Corporate Communication. He is also a doctoral candidate at the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP). Carbonaro has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences. His dissertation, Brazilian Narratives: diplomatic identity and discourse in the Lula government, was recognized as the best master’s thesis of the Graduate Program in Communication Sciences (PPGCOM) ECA-USP in 2015. The study deals with the relationship between foreign policy and national culture in the formation of the Brazilian narrative. Carbonaro is also an assistant professor at the University of Sao Paulo (USP).
