XP Inc. launches volunteer program with SOS Mata Atlântica
XP professionals will dedicate themselves to the management challenges of selected entities working in the Atlantic Forest biome

XP Inc. and Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica launch the volunteer program “Desafio de Gestão XP Inc – SOS Mata Atlântica” (“Management Challenge XP Inc – SOS Mata Atlântica”). The work of volunteers will contribute to the autonomy, sustainability, and management of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) that work in social and environmental causes in the Atlantic Forest. The program’s launch meets a demand from the company’s employees which are part of the XP Bio environmental group.
The first phase of the project is the launch of the public call notice for CSOs operating in the Atlantic Forest biome – which had its forest cover reduced to 12.4% of its original extension, is present in 17 Brazilian states, housing around 72% of the country’s population, seven of the nine largest hydrographic basins, and three of the largest urban centers in the South American continent.
“The ESG Board is celebrating one year at XP Inc., and the announcement of our volunteer program meets an internal demand from our professionals and also reinforces our work in the ‘E’ pillar (environment),” says Helena Masullo, head of ESG Strategy at XP Inc.
For Marcia Hirota, executive director of SOS Mata Atlântica, the initiative of XP and its employees is worthwhile. “Several environmental organizations need support, and institutional strengthening is essential for them to achieve even better results,” she says. “The NGOs will be able to count on the individual dedication – time, knowledge, and skills – of excellent professionals, who in turn contribute to the environment and the protection of the Atlantic Forest.”
