The new team is set to face the challenges imposed by digital transformation

The external and internal Communication areas of General Motors do Brasil, headed respectively by Nelson Silveira and Selva Carbajal – who respond to Marina Willisch, VP of Communication and Government Relations at GM South America – were restructured to keep up with the changes brought about by the transformation the automotive industry. As of February 1, Beatriz Matarazzo, Felipe Nóbrega Arado, and Isabel Faria assumed new positions in the company’s external communication area, and Ariane Pereira became South America’s Internal Communication Supervisor.

External Communication

Currently responsible for events and actions with digital influencers, Matarazzo starts to occupy the position of head of the digital area and curator of social networks, being responsible for the development and operationalization of strategic actions of the GM and Chevrolet brands in the digital world and coordination of the relationship with new media and digital influencers.

Arado assumes the position of manager of the Chevrolet and OnStar brands, leading the strategic planning and execution of the communication of the brands’ products and services portfolio in Brazil, and starts to coordinate the communication strategy in South America.

Faria takes over as GM brand manager, leading strategic communication actions and managing the reputation of the company and its executives in Brazil, and coordinating the corporate brand communication strategy in the region.

Responding directly to Nelson Silveira, Director of Communication, the external communication team reconfigures itself to face the challenges imposed by the digital transformation and the industry, contributing to position GM and Chevrolet in the leadership of this transformation towards a future with Zero accident, Zero emission, and Zero Congestion.

Internal communication

As for internal communication, Ariane Pereira takes on the new position of IC supervisor in South America, coordinating and implementing internal communication strategies in all operations in the region.

Responding directly to Selva Carbajal, South America Internal Communication Manager, the team of internal communicators is strengthened to accompany the profound transformation of GM and its internal public. “Internal communication increasingly demonstrates its ability to add value to the business. Strategic management and robust structures bring us closer to that goal,” says Carbajal.
