iFood creates 50 million BRL fund for restaurants during the pandemic

Aberje associate iFood will allocate 50 million BRL to a fund to assist partner restaurants during the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The main focus will be on small commercial establishments.

The company also announced that it will anticipate the money transfer to restaurants in April and May, starting to pay them seven days after the sale. Another action will be the return to the restaurants of the amounts collected by iFood with the option “take away”, by which the consumer goes to the establishment to pick up their meals. In this case, the goal is to encourage businesses not to close during the crisis.

iFood ended 2019 with 131,200 registered restaurants, an increase of 151% in one year.
