This Monday (01), the Global Alliance’s Regional Council for Latin America gathered its members for an online presentation session of the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2026. The presentation was led by Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, and by Dr. Tope Ojeme, Chairman of the WPRF 2026 Creative and Multimedia Productions Committee. Attendees included Hamilton dos Santos, CEO of Aberje and President of the Global Alliance’s Regional Council for Latin America; Victor Pereira, Institutional and International Relations Manager; Luis Figueredo, Institutional Relations; Matheus Furlanetto, Chief Administrative Officer of the Global Alliance; Gladys Diaz, from the Puerto Rico Public Relations Professionals Association (ARPR); Thyago Mathias, Vice President of Advocacy and Public Affairs at SEC Newgate Group; and Alejandro Cornejo Montibeller, from the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Tourism, and Psychology at Universidad de San Martín de Porres.

In his opening remarks, Hamilton dos Santos highlighted the goal of engaging the Latin American council to help promote WPRF 2026 in the region’s countries and send the largest possible number of participants to what is considered the Global Alliance’s most important product.

World Public Relations Forum takes place in the capital Abuja in November

Dr. Ike Neliaku shared an overview of the forum, which takes place between November 15 and 21 at the Transcorp Hilton hotel in Abuja, Nigeria. Under the theme “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World,” the proposal is to review current practices and redefine the global agenda of the profession for the next ten years.

“This will be the biggest, brightest, and boldest global public relations gathering of the decade. We are defining a new agenda for our profession, and we believe everyone will need to be on board,” highlighted Ike. Drawing a parallel with the previous edition, he emphasized the grandeur of the project: “Indonesia was the gateway, but the Nigerian experience will be the destination. You won’t want to stop at the gateway; you will want to reach the final destination.”

Next, Dr. Tope Ojeme complemented the presentation by focusing on the infrastructure, safety, and well-being of the delegates. The event has broad government support, with the President of Nigeria as the main host. “We have selected WPRF-accredited hotels with affordable and negotiated rates. The chosen hotels will guarantee comfort and, most importantly, safety. You can be assured that you will have all the necessary assistance for the trip,” Ojeme assured.

Concluding the presentation and inviting Latin American professionals to secure their seats in the discussions, Ike quoted an African proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. And we want to go far in our profession.”
