Antonietta Varlese takes over Accor Institutional Relations
Antonietta Varlese, vice president of Communication and Social Responsibility Accor South America, took over in early August the Accor Institutional Relations area in the South American continent. Ahead of the new challenge, the executive will be responsible for engaging different audiences such as entities, government, sector institutions, regulators, among others.
“I am very confident of another mission within Accor. My goal in this area will be to reduce risk, maximize returns, act in society, contribute to public policy, build and maintain the company’s positive reputation and social role,” said Antonietta. She will report directly to Patrick Mendes, CEO of Accor South America, as well as to strategic areas of the company’s Paris headquarters.
With over 20 years of experience in public affairs, Antonietta has worked at Accor since 2013, previously serving at British American Tobacco headquarters in London as Global Head of Strategy and Planning.
Recently awarded as one of the 10 Best Communication Professionals in Brazil by the Brazilian Association for Business Communication (Aberje), Antonietta Varlese graduated in Journalism, specializing in Public Policy, MBA in Marketing and extension by the University of Syracuse, University of the Arts of London and MIT .
